Base covers and foil variants need two calendar lines
Print shops have lived with variant covers for decades. NFT comic marketplaces inherited the habit, then gave each treatment its own listing hour. If App Work Core collapsed every cover into one issue number, the Marvel NFT comic release calendar would lie about Tuesday versus Wednesday.
A worked example
Suppose a monthly book lists a base digital cover at 10:00 UK on Tuesday and a foil treatment at 18:30 UK on Wednesday. Those are two appointments. A collector who only wants the base cover should not be told that “the issue” happens Wednesday evening.
What we will not invent
Ratio language such as 1:50 stays off the board unless the listing prints it. We would rather write “foil” than guess a rarity code that makes the register look like a price guide.
After the windows close
Both lines remain. The foil line is not a correction of the base line. Later reprint drops get new rows on the issue card, still tagged with their cover designations.
