Variant cover register

The variant cover register exists because NFT comic drops often publish more than one picture for the same issue number. A base digital cover, an incentive foil treatment, and a guest-artist wraparound can each carry their own listing window. Filing them as one row hides the actual Marvel NFT comic release calendar.

How a variant is recognised

We copy the cover line printed on the listing. We do not invent ratio codes such as “1:25” unless that code is visible on the public page we are reading. If the listing only says “foil,” the register says foil.

Typical mix on one issue

A monthly team book might show a Tuesday base window and a Wednesday foil window. The register keeps Tuesday and Wednesday as two lines under the same issue number. Readers who only care about the base cover can ignore the foil line without losing the hour of the book they actually follow.

Artistic caution

Cover art on marketplaces is owned by its rightsholders. This register describes treatments in words. It is not a gallery of official character portraits and it is not a Marvel product page.
